Keeler Recruitment are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our accounting and tax teams by managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to date.
This role requires someone who can work efficiently across a variety of industries, understanding the diverse needs of our clients, from large corporations to small sole traders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Reconcile bank statements and client accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Liaise with clients to gather financial information and provide timely updates on their financial standing.
• Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with senior accountants for tax filings.
• Handle payroll processing for clients, ensuring compliance with legal and tax regulations.
• Provide general bookkeeping and administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in an accountancy practice.
• QBE or AAT qualified
• Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Clear books
• Strong knowledge of VAT
• Payroll experience desired but not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients clearly.
