Role Overview
Join our Property Accounting team as a Senior Property Accountant and play a pivotal role in establishing JLL as a 'Centre of Excellence' in Financial Management. You'll be responsible for sophisticated financial reporting, maintaining critical controls, and supporting team development while building strong stakeholder relationships across the business. Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee financial operations for complex, high-profile property portfolios requiring advanced technical accounting expertise
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review trial balance reports, management accounts, nominal ledger reconciliations, journals, and VAT reporting
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to client deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards
  • Technical Support: Provide specialized accounting guidance and perform advanced calculations including variable head lease calculations, NOI reporting, and bad debt provisioning
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to standardize and streamline operational procedures

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentoring: Support training and development of Assistant Property Accountants and Property Accountants
  • Performance Management: Assist the Property Accounts Manager with workload allocation and team oversight
  • Strategic Contribution: Help build an industry-leading Property Accounting team recognized as a 'Centre of Excellence'

Risk Management & Controls

  • KPI Monitoring: Track portfolio performance indicators and drive timely issue resolution
  • Reconciliation Management: Complete control account reconciliations and monitor funding levels
  • Audit Support: Facilitate internal and external audit processes within accredited control frameworks
  • Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance with company, accounting, and legislative procedures

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Client Relations: Serve as primary contact for designated client portfolios
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Surveyors, JLL Business Services, and other internal teams
  • Communication Excellence: Maintain strong relationships across Property Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Treasury & Control, and Surveying departments

Essential Requirements
Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) with 3+ years accounting experience, OR Qualified by Experience (4+ years in accounting)
  • Specialized Experience: Minimum 1 year in property accounting
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of property accounts and VAT accounting principles

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel: Proficient in pivot tables, V-Lookups, X-Lookups, and complex formulae
  • MS Office Suite: Comprehensive knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Systems Adaptability: Ability to learn and utilize various accounting software platforms
