Assistant Accountant

With some of the best company benefits in the region and a supportive, inclusive culture, they are now seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join their friendly finance team.
This is a key role responsible for managing sales, purchase, and nominal ledger activity for a growing arm of the business. The successful candidate will support monthly management accounts preparation, assist with forecasting, and handle customer and supplier queries with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and issue sales invoices accurately and on time
- Reconcile supplier statements and process payments
- Produce monthly customer statements and manage credit control
- Respond to customer account queries and process refunds/credits as needed
- Prepare ledger postings, perform bank reconciliations, and assist with VAT returns
- Support monthly management account preparation and reporting
- Contribute to budget/forecast updates and assist with ad-hoc financial reporting
- Work collaboratively with wider finance and operational teams
Skills & Experience
- Currently studying AAT or higher
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset
- Experience with Sage
