My client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Ledger & Billing Assistant to join their busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and delivering excellent customer service within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role

As a Sales Ledger & Billing Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring invoices, credit notes, and correction documents are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines. You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and members to resolve queries efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for member queries via email, telephone, and internal systems
  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately
  • Manage member correction documentation within agreed deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails within CRM and finance systems
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues
  • Proactively chase outstanding queries to minimise invoices under investigation
  • Ensure invoice corrections and associated credit notes are processed correctly
  • Analyse recurring billing issues and support process improvements
  • Prioritise workloads effectively to meet monthly processing deadlines
  • Support wider business functions during busy periods when required
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced office environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Previous experience working in a busy office environment
  • Experience in a customer-focused role
  • Understanding of invoice and credit note processing, including VAT
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Experience within sales ledger, billing, or finance administration
