Role Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, playing a key role in the financial management of the company. The successful candidate will be hands-on initially, utilising their expertise to streamline processes and contribute to the overall financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, Sage accounts entries, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Design and implement financial reports for effective decision-making.
- Coordinate with accountants and auditors to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee payroll processing.
- Conduct financial analysis, research, and present findings to directors.
- Drive efficiency improvements and cost savings initiatives.
- Manage contracts related to insurance, energy, phone, maintenance, etc.
- Review and report on prospective acquisition targets.
- Handle VAT/duty matters, including international transactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience working in a similar-sized business, ideally with international exposure.
- Flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a high attention to detail.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
