Job Profile – Financial Director – Holton
Company
Bernard Matthews Foods Limited is a processor poultry livestock. It kills more than 6 million turkeys per annum and processes these into fresh and frozen all-year round turkey products as well as processing breaded products.
The company operates 2 sites, a kill and cut site and breaded plant both based in Holton, Suffolk.
Bernard Matthews in 1 of only 2 major turkey processors in the UK and provides c50% of the turkey meat consumed in the UK through the year and seasonally at Christmas.
Bernard Matthews has been part of the Boparan Private Office since 2016.
Finance Function
The finance function is actively concerned with the control, planning and deployment of financial resources, ensuring the resources acquired are put to efficient operational and strategic use, challenging performance and the management of those resources together with ensuring that risks are identified, minimised and liabilities controlled.
The Role
The Finance Director – Holton will be responsible for ensuring the robust reporting of site performance, maintain adequate reporting and ensuring comprehensive controls are in place. This will include but not be limited to:
- Creating and maintaining a robust reporting and analysis timetable for the site
- Provide regular analysis on the site’s performance (daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc)
- Ensure that the site management is updated and challenged on site performance
- Mitigate risks and seek continual improvement of controls and reporting
- Work with the ops team to ensure operational dashboard is robust
- Liaise with site management to ensure robust control over intake, stock, labour and yields.
- Support site management in pulling capital proposals together
- Provide analysis on the deployment of capital investment, performing post implementation reviews.
- Liaise with Auditors and other external stakeholders
- Manage daily cash flow and cash flow forecasting
- Produce and manage site forecasts and budgets, ensuring working to FP&A timetable
