Keeler Recruitment are pleased to be supporting Downey & Co, a long established and highly respected specialist printing business, in the recruitment of a Company Accountant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. With operations in Great Yarmouth and London, Downey & Co have built a strong reputation within their sector for delivering high quality specialised printing solutions and maintaining long standing client relationships.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and well regarded business in a varied finance role with responsibility for the day to day financial operations of the organisation.

Overview of the role

Based at the company’s Great Yarmouth site, the Company Accountant will play a key role in managing the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining strong cashflow control and producing timely management information to support business decision making.

The position offers a broad and hands on role across banking, payroll, management accounts and operational financial support.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring cashflow and maintaining daily cash reporting
  • Posting bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations
  • Managing company payments, expenses, credit cards and petty cash
  • Processing monthly payroll and supporting payroll related requirements
  • Managing pensions, payroll year end processes and statutory submissions
  • Preparing monthly stock valuations and monitoring stock movements
  • Producing monthly management accounts including accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Supporting year end processes and liaising with external accountants
  • Raising sales invoices and supporting credit control activities
  • Setting up new customer accounts and supporting credit checks
  • Producing debtor reports and monitoring outstanding balances

About you
The successful candidate will have strong all round accounting experience and be confident managing a broad finance role. You will be ideally AAT qualified, organised, detail focused and comfortable working independently while supporting the wider business.

Working hours

This is a full time, permanent position based in Great Yarmouth. The current working hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm, half an hour for lunch, with some flexibility available.
