NEF – Sophie returns to university after her 9mths placement with Keeler Recruitment

Norwich Employability Forum – 2 Years On

This event marked two years since the launch of the Norwich Employability Forum. This is a space created for senior HR professionals to connect, support one another and share insights on key employment topics.

A huge thank you to Jeanette Wheeler and Nigel Cushion for leading today’s session. Your valued input was engaging and inspired meaningful conversations for all.

At one of our forums in early 2024, I spoke about the importance of investing in the next generation through training, work experience, and apprenticeships. Wanting to lead by example we took action and welcomed Sophie-Marie Chambers, then a third-year Business & HR Management student at UEA, into the Keeler Recruitment team.

In just 9 months, Sophie has grown immensely both personally and professionally. It’s been a privilege to witness her development, and the support she has received from the wider HR community has been incredible.

Last week Sophie asked if she could introduce and open today’s NEF session at Royal Norwich GC, the answer was an easy YES!

With today’s topic being Leadership, what better way to reflect on that than by giving someone the opportunity to step up and shine.

Sophie, we are all so proud of you. You have been an asset to the team and we have no doubt that your future in HR is going to be bright.
After you complete your final year at the University of East Anglia, we know the Norfolk HR community will be lucky to have you.
